What it does
The allmates Note Taker is a meeting bot that attends your Zoom meetings to record them, produce a speaker-attributed transcript, and deliver a structured summary to your allmates.ai workspace and by email.
Installing
Install the allmates.ai Chrome extension from the Chrome Web Store and sign in with your allmates.ai account. On any Zoom meeting page, the extension offers to start the Note Taker; you can also paste a meeting link in the extension popup. For best results, use Zoom's “Copy invite link” — it includes the meeting passcode, which the bot needs to get in.
Connecting your Zoom account (optional)
In the extension popup, open the Zoom account section and click Connect Zoom account. You will be redirected to Zoom's consent page, which lists the exact permissions requested.
Once connected, the Note Taker joins meetings on your behalf: participants see it attributed to you and to the allmates app, and it can enter meetings restricted to signed-in attendees. Because it acts on your behalf, it can only join meetings you attend, and it leaves the meeting when you do.
Without a connected account, the Note Taker joins open meetings as a regular guest — this works for most meetings.
Recording visibility
The Note Taker is always a visible participant in the meeting. The meeting host receives Zoom's recording permission prompt and can decline it, and Zoom's in-meeting Apps panel shows the allmates app and what it accesses for the whole duration of the meeting.
Disconnecting / revoking access
In the extension popup, open Zoom account and click Disconnect. This deletes the stored credential immediately and the Note Taker stops joining meetings on your behalf.
You can additionally revoke the app from your Zoom account at any time: in the Zoom App Marketplace, go to Manage → Added Apps and remove allmates Note Taker.
