Accessing allmates.ai on Any Device

Use allmates.ai in your browser, on your phone or as an installed app, and find the install options in Apps & extensions.

You can use allmates.ai in a web browser on your computer, in the browser of your phone or tablet, or as an installed app. This article shows each option, how to install the app, and how to find the installation shortcuts in your account.

Web application

Open app.allmates.ai in a modern browser: Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge or a similar browser. You do not install anything. The app always opens on the latest version.

Mobile browser

The interface adapts to the screen of your phone or tablet. Open app.allmates.ai in your mobile browser (Chrome, Safari or another browser). You get the core features of allmates.ai with a touch-friendly layout.

Installed app (PWA)

You can install allmates.ai as a Progressive Web App (PWA). A PWA is a website that you install like an app. It opens from your dock, applications menu or home screen, in its own window, without the browser address bar.

The installed app gives the same features as the web application. It needs an internet connection to load your conversations, Mates and files.

Install from Account > Apps & extensions

The Apps & extensions page of your account groups the install options for your device.

  1. Click your avatar and name at the bottom of the left sidebar. The Account page opens. On a phone, open the side menu first, then tap your name at the bottom.
  2. In the account navigation, under Mates, select Apps & extensions.
  3. Use the card that matches your need:
    • Browser extension: click Install from Chrome Web Store to add the allmates.ai extension to your browser. If the extension is already there, the card shows Installed. In a browser that the extension does not support, the card shows "Available on Chrome, Edge, Brave and Arc." instead of the button.
    • Installable web app, Desktop column: click Install app when your browser offers it. Otherwise, follow the steps listed for your browser. When you open this page in the installed app, the card shows Already installed.
    • Installable web app, Phone column: on a computer, the page shows a QR code with the text "Scan to open on your phone, then add to Home Screen." Scan it with your phone camera to open allmates.ai on your phone. On a phone, the column shows Install app or the steps for your phone.

Install the app manually

You can also install the app from the browser menu.

On a computer

  • Chrome or Edge: open app.allmates.ai. Select the install icon in the address bar. Or open the browser menu and choose "Install allmates.ai".
  • Safari on Mac: open app.allmates.ai. Open the File menu and choose Add to Dock.
  • Firefox: desktop installation is not supported. Open allmates.ai in Chrome or Edge.

The app then shows in your applications menu or dock.

On Android (Chrome)

  1. Open app.allmates.ai in Chrome.
  2. Open the browser menu (three dots).
  3. Choose Install app. Chrome may also show an install banner at the bottom of the screen.

On iPhone and iPad (Safari)

  1. Open app.allmates.ai in Safari.
  2. Tap Share (the square with an arrow pointing up).
  3. Choose Add to Home Screen. You can edit the name, then tap Add.

Updates

allmates.ai checks for a new version regularly, in the browser and in the installed app. When a new version is ready, a message shows at the top of the screen: Update available, "A new version is ready. Reload to get the latest." Click Reload to switch to the new version. The message stays on screen until you reload.

If the update does not complete, the message changes to Update didn't complete. Click Reload again. If the problem persists, close and reopen the app.

Good to know

  • The app needs a connection. Without a network, the app window can open, but your conversations and Mates do not load.
  • Your workspaces, conversations and Mates are the same on every device where you sign in.
  • Your theme choice is saved in each browser. Set it again on a new device if needed.
  • Browser notifications work only while allmates.ai is open. See How to Enable and Troubleshoot Notifications.
  • If the install fails, reload the page and try again, or use Chrome or Edge.
  • Keep your browser up to date for the best experience.
