The allmates.ai browser extension is designed to bridge the gap between your daily web browsing and your intelligent work environment. It allows you to instantly integrate context from any webpage—articles, emails, documents, social profiles, or videos—directly into your conversations with your Mates, without ever switching tabs.

2. Installation and Getting Started

1. Installation: Download the extension from the Chrome Web Store.

2. Login: Click the allmates icon in your browser toolbar extension and log in with your usual allmates.ai credentials.

3. Open: The extension opens a sidebar on the right, displaying your allmates.ai interface (mobile view) alongside your active webpage.

3. Core Features

These features are available on any website.

3.1 The AllMates Sidebar

• Always Accessible: Chat with your Mates while browsing.

• Immediate Context: Data extracted from the page is sent directly into your active conversation.

3.2 Content Extraction (Page Text)

Turn any webpage into actionable data.

• Action: Click the text extraction button.

• Result: The extension converts visible HTML into clean, structured Markdown.

• Usage: The content is automatically attached to your current conversation as a file. No need to copy-paste; you can immediately ask your Mate to analyze the page.

3.3 Smart Screen Capture

Give your Mates vision.

• Visible Capture: Takes a screenshot of the area currently displayed on the screen and attaches it to the conversation.

• Full Page Capture: For long pages, the extension automatically scrolls and stitches together multiple screenshots (with overlap to maintain context).

  • Warning: For sites with infinite scrolling or complex layouts (e.g., some news sites), the Visible Capture is recommended.

4. Deep Integrations

The extension automatically detects professional platforms and offers specific contextual action buttons.

4.1 Google Workspace

📧 Gmail

• Detection: An AllMates button appears directly within the Gmail interface.

• Rich Extraction: Retrieves the complete thread history (senders, timestamps, message bodies).

• Use Case: Ideal for asking a Mate to draft a reply or summarize a long support/client exchange.

📅 Google Calendar

• Schedule Analysis: Export your events for a specific period (e.g., "Next 30 days").

• Use Case: Ask a Sales Mate to prepare for your upcoming meetings or analyze your workload.

📄 Google Docs, 📊 Sheets & 📽️ Slides

• On-the-fly Permissions: Upon first use on a file, a Google pop-up will ask you to select the file to authorize read access.

• Docs: Extracts full text with formatting for summarization or rewriting.

• Sheets: Converts spreadsheet data into Markdown tables for analysis by a Data Mate.

• Slides: Two options are available:

  1. Visual Capture: Takes a high-quality image of the currently displayed slide.

  2. Text Extraction: Retrieves all text content from the entire presentation.

4.2 Social Media & Video

A powerful tool for recruitment and sales.

• Posts & Feed: Extracts the content of the post.

• Comments & Authors: Retrieves comments, author names, headlines (titles), and general sentiment.

• Prospect Lists: Allows you to quickly generate lists of people interested in a specific topic (e.g., based on comments from a viral post).

• Transcript: Automatically retrieves the video script.

• Comments: Extracts up to 500 comments to analyze audience feedback or sentiment.

5. Advanced Settings

5.1 Custom URL (Enterprise)

For clients with a dedicated or On-Premise instance:

1. Go to the extension Settings.

2. Uncheck the default URL.

3. Enter the URL of your AllMates instance (e.g., https://allmates.my-company.com).

5.2 Authentication Management

The extension uses the official Google OAuth protocol. If you encounter access issues (especially with Drive), you can force a token refresh via the menu.

6. Privacy & Security

• On-Demand Access: The extension only reads page content when you explicitly click an action button.

• No Local Storage: Data is transmitted in real-time to your secure instance and is not stored in the browser.

• Encryption: All data transfers occur via HTTPS.

7. Troubleshooting & Tips

Integration Issues? If the contextual action buttons (e.g., "Extract Gmail Thread" or "Analyze LinkedIn Post") do not appear or fail to trigger:

1. Refresh the webpage you are browsing.

2. Close and Reopen the AllMates extension sidebar. This usually forces the extension to re-inject the necessary scripts into the page and resolves most display glitches.

⚡ Pro Tip for Instant Login: The extension is designed to detect your active session. If you already have app.allmates.ai (or your custom Enterprise URL) open and logged in on another tab, the extension will automatically connect to your account without requiring you to re-enter your credentials.
